How to setup campaigns on Voluum working with hasOffers back end Part 4

Part 4/4 Setting up your first campaign (if you don’t have Voluum, get it here)

Creating traffic sources

Step: 1 – Adding a new traffic source

NOTE – this part is necessary if you wish to add one of your own traffic sources, Voluum contains “ZeroPark” as a traffic source because it is fully integrated with the system and is automatically added to the list after signing up.

1) Click on the tab which says “Traffic sources”

2) Click on the green button which says “New traffic source”

Step: 2 – filling the fields

NOTE#1 – Not all traffic sources support tracking charges per click that is why I used 50onRed for the example because they do.

NOTE#2 – All input fields except the name are optional.

1) Enter the name of your desired traffic source i.e. 50onRed

1.1) Postback URL and External ID fields are used to send conversions back to your traffic source. This setting is optional and many users are not using it.

2) Cost field allows you to automatically track costs based on what the traffic source charges per click

2.1) Custom Variables allow you to pass data from your traffic source to Voluum

– parameter column names will appear in the URL

– placeholder names are tokens that your traffic source uses

– name column is for naming your reports

3) After you have filled the fields you can click SAVE, and the new traffic source will appear in the list

Creating a new affiliate network

Step#1 – getting to the new affiliate network creation

1) Click on the “Affiliate networks tab”

2) Click on “New affiliate network” to begin the creation

Step#2 – Filling in the fields

1) Set a name of your affiliate network, I used AppFlood as an example

2) Check “Append click ID to offer URLs” because they will add {clickid} to the end of your offer URLs

3) Click SAVE and now your new affiliate network will be listed

Adding your first offer

Step#1 – Getting to the offer creation

NOTE#2 – If you are unsatisfied with the choices and want to make corrections or changes you can EDIT them at any time.

1) Insert your desired Name for your offer

2) Paste your offer URL from your affiliate network

3) The available URL tokens can be used to pass back information from your affiliate network

4) Country field groups your offers and landers into country groups. If you leave this field blank then “Global” will appear in the Name section

5) Choose your affiliate network from the drop-down menu

6) Choose your payout option carefully, if you didn’t add the payout parameter to your postback or pixel URL or your affiliate network doesn’t have a payout token then check the “Manual” and enter the price

7) When all fields are filled click SAVE

Creating your first lander

Creating your new campaign

Step#1 – Getting to campaigns

2) Click on “New campaign” to get started

Step#2 – creating a new campaign

1) First part of the name is automatically generated based on country and traffic source, just name your campaign for example “first campaign”

2) Choose your traffic source from the list

3) Leave it blank for “Global” setting or pick a country

4) CPC allows you to enter your cost per click. CPA allows you to enter cost per conversion, Auto is used when the cost parameter is already defined in your traffic source. Enter your desired price based on the options you pick

5) 302 is a regular http redirect. If you want to cloak your landing page URL choose Double Meta Refresh

6) Choose your Lander and/or add more landers

7) Choose your offer and/or add more offers

8) Click SAVE to complete your campaign

EXTRA: You can click on the “Add Rule” button to get a set of options where you can define specific redirect rules, such as country, OS etc. This is very important if you want to maximize your profits. Click OK when you are done and SAVE your campaign.
