Spying on the Top Performing Campaigns
Using spy tools is a great way to learn what kinds of ads and landing pages are working the best in your vertical, and to see how your competitors are running their campaigns.
Adplexity Push is the very best spy tool you can choose for spying on Push traffic sources.
Once you log in to Adplexity Push it’s going to show you the most recent ads that are live on various Push traffic sources.
However, what we want to know is which campaigns are performing the best in our vertical which is casino.
So first we need to set filters to see ads from the last 30 days.
Next we need to sort the ads by ’’Received most traffic’’
By doing this Adplexity will show us ads that received the most traffic in the last 30 days. The reason why we use this technique is because if these campaigns would not be profitable, they would not run them to buy that much traffic.
After that we want to see Casino offers only so we need to search for the keyword ’’Casino’’.
Next you can select your target country, for this guide we are going to select Canada.
When you set all this, you can click through the ads to see what angles, landing pages and offers these top affiliates are running.
You should make notes and create ads that are very similar to these top ads. See what kinds of landers they are running and you can download those directly from Aplexity by clicking on the download button in the landing page details section.

How To Setup Ad Tracking With RedTrack
Using a reliable ad tracking tool is necessary to be able to track your campaigns performance. My favorite tracking tool is RedTrack.
If you are not using an ad tracking tool like Redtrack, you are missing out on important data that you are buying, and without that data you can’t optimise your campaigns, and without optimising it’s going to be hard to create profitable campaigns.
To set up ad tracking with Redtrack all you need to do is follow these 5 simple steps.
#1 Adding Your Landing Page
First, you need to add the landing pages you are going to use. So go to landers and click on +New
Then you need to type in the name and the URL of your landing page
Click save and that’s it.
#2 Add LeadBit as Offer Source
Click on Offer sources, then +New
Then scroll down until you see LeadBit, and click on the Add button.
Then you need to add your postback URL and the correct clickID parameter used by Leadbit.
Ask your affiliate manager at Leadbit to help you with the postback setup to ensure everything is set correctly.
#3 Add Your Chosen Casino Offer
Go to Offers and click on +New
Type in the offer’s name, select the Offer source (Affiliate Network) and insert your Offer URL.
Remember you need to add the correct ClickID parameter to your offer link.
#4 Adding PropellerAds as the Traffic Source
Go to traffic sources and select add new.
Then scroll down until you see Propeller Ads, and click on the green Add button, that’s it.
Once you are done with these 4 steps, you are ready to create your first tracking campaign in Redtrack.
#5 Creating the Ad Tracking Campaign
Go to Campaigns and click on +New
First you need to name your campaign, and select the traffic source.
Then you can create your funnels. You can add multiple Landing pages and Offers if you want.
If you add more Landers or Offers, you can adjust the Weight and Redtrack will rotate and split-test them for you.
Then you need to save your campaign and that’s pretty much it. Then select your campaign and copy the campaign URL, that’s going to be the Final URL you promote on PropellerAds.
How To Launch a Push Campaign in Propeller Ads
Propeller Ads is one of the most popular traffic sources, especially when it comes to pop and push traffic. While I was spying with Adplexity I learned that casinos are very hot on Propeller Ads, that’s why I chose it as our traffic source.
To create your first push campaign, log in to PropellerAds and click on Create campaign.
Next you need to type in a name for your campaign, select Push notifications as the advertising format and then select a Push notification type. Now I’m going to start with Classic Push notifications only.
TIP: If you want to run In Page Push as well, create a separate campaign for it. It’s not recommended to select both within one campaign.
Then we need to select a pricing model, I’m going to select CPA Goal because that works the best from past experience, and we need to add our target URL (Redtrack Campaign Link)
Next I recommend starting out with targeting High user activity only because of higher quality and those are much more likely to convert. For the GEO I target Canada only and I set the CPA Goal to $15.
Then we need to set our daily and total campaign budgets, and select a device type. For this campaign I target Desktop devices only, and after that I will create a new campaign targeting mobile only.
It’s highly recommended to launch separate campaigns for each device type you want to target.
Then we have more targeting options we can choose from, Browser, Browser language, OS, connection type etc. I’m going to leave those for now, and I will adjust later when we have some data.
After that we can upload the ads. Type in your ad texts in the Title and Description boxes, then upload your icons and the main images, and that’s it.
That’s it, now you can click on Start Campaign and wait for the approval team to approve your campaign.
Checking the Stats In Redtrack
When your campaign is approved and the traffic starts flowing, you need to check and make sure that the data is coming through the parameters.
To do that, go to Redtrack, select your campaign and click on the Report.
Then click on Subs, and make sure that data is coming through the parameters (Zone ID, Campaign ID, Banner ID, etc.)
If everything works fine you should see something like this:
This step is very important because if there is a problem in your setup and you don’t receive data your campaign is wasting money, and later you will not be able to optimize your campaign correctly.
How To Optimize Your Campaigns
Campaign optimization is very important when you are running campaigns. At this stage you need to analyse the stats and adjust your campaigns based on the data you get.
Basically what you need to do is to stop bad performing segments of your campaign, like placements, creatives etc. Bad performing placements are placements that are spending your money without bringing any results (conversions or leads).
I recommend starting the optimization with the placements. (Zone IDs).
First I log in to Redtrack, go to campaign reports and I select Zone ID from the Subs menu.
A general rule of thumb is to stop all placements that spend more than the offer payout without bringing any results. For example my offer payout is $14 per lead, so I stop all placements which spend more than that without getting any leads.
When you identify the bead placements, go to Propeller Ads, click on your campaign, select Zones and uncheck the ones you want to stop.
You should repeat these steps on a regular basis, because you are going to receive traffic from hundreds of placements so you need to monitor and get rid of the bad ones ASAP!
Next we need to check the performance of the Creatives. To do this select Banner ID from the Subs menu.
My spending limit for a creative that doesn’t get any leads is $30. So I’m going to stop and replace those creatives with new ones that are very similar to the other creatives which are bringing leads in.
In the next couple of days when I have enough data, I analyse and try to optimise other segments of the campaign as well, such as Devices Types, OS types, Browsers, Day parting etc.
How To Scale Your Winning Campaigns
Once you finally find your winning campaign after all the optimisations, you probably want and should scale it for more and more profits.
Scaling is important also because winning campaigns don’t live forever unfortunately, sometimes they just burn out after a couple months. You need to work on optimizing and scaling every day to squeeze out as much profit as possible.
You can start scaling by simply trying to increase the daily budget of your campaign and see how it goes. Also you can try adjusting with the bids on your campaign. If you bid a bit higher you can reach new audiences, or try to decrease them a bit and see if your campaign remains profitable or not.
Then you can also try to launch your winning campaign in other GEOs as well. You will need to localize your ads and landing pages for better results (translate them to local languages) and launch new campaigns targeting new countries.
Next you should also try to scale to other traffic sources as well. What you need to do is to set up and launch the same winning campaigns with the same ads and landing pages on new traffic sources. Most of the time those campaigns will perform well on other traffic sources too.
