I want to share with you some tips on which things you need to consider as you set up your campaigns and how to come up with the best possible angles for your camps and the offers you want to promote.

Setting up Your Affiliate Marketing Campaign

So, the first thing you want to do is give some thought to how you want to start your campaign. There are two options:

  • Do a lot of research, choose a niche, pick an offer, and then think of angles you can use to promote it.
  • Skip the research, go straight to a CPA or affiliate network you’re working with, choose an offer, and continue from there.

I prefer option #1, so once I pick an offer, I’ll take a look at the data, and then talk to my affiliate manager to see if they have any ideas on which angles to use. Obviously, you don’t want an angle that everyone is using. You want something unique.

EXAMPLE: Let’s say that I want to sell a flashlight, and that the offer for the flashlight went huge a couple of years ago. The angle that was used then was all about urging people to keep the flashlight with them at all times, i.e. they were using fear and safety to sell the flashlight. Using the same story today might work for a short period of time, but if you want to continue selling the flashlight, you will need a new angle.

In case my affiliate manager can’t help me find an angle, I’ll do some research on my own. This is where tip no.1 comes into the picture.

Step #1: Define the Angle for Your Offer

News platforms, such as CNN, are great platforms for you to grab ideas for your affiliate marketing angles. CNN is full of native ads which are perfect for your research, because they use a headline and then move on to the story immediately.
